Oh how I love you so
When I first arrived,
I was like a fallen angel; cast out.
I was cast towards the stars,
And you all accepted me.
Oh, how I love you so.
I re read my poems and admire,
I admire how I’ve grown.
Oh how I love you so.
You took me in with my broken pieces,
You all smiled, and handed me my key.
My key to let me breathe,
My key to be free.
Oh how I love you all so.
I’ve grown to love it here,
The diversity, My friends.
You gave me my lungs back, I can breathe.
You gave me the most greatest gift,
My voice; I am a thousand storms, in one.
I am the fire in my ancestors belly.
I am the will that will never dwindle.
Oh how I love you so, DU poetry.
I am so grateful.
You took me in,
And helped me become more than I was,
More than a fallen angel.
I was like a fallen angel; cast out.
I was cast towards the stars,
And you all accepted me.
Oh, how I love you so.
I re read my poems and admire,
I admire how I’ve grown.
