Her skirt was too short ( TRIGGER WARNING)
You told the court about her skirt,
How it was too short.
You didn’t show the photos,
The bruises, the broken bones.
The forced entry ; the broken soul.
You didn’t tell them about the roofie,
You told them she wanted it.
She was begging for it.
Our skirts are too short,
Or it’s the face we’re making,
You assume we want you,
Because we’re all begging for more.
You don’t tell them about the drink,
Or about how much she screamed.
You don’t tell them how she weeped,
How she pleaded,
How she screamed for her mommy.
Our shirts were too low,
Or maybe it was your poor fucking ego.
Our make up was too much,
Or we were asking for it,
You could tell that we’d wanted to fuck.
You never told the court those things,
Because in your mind,
You weren’t doing anything wrong,
You were simply “doing your thing”

Someone I know was sexually assaulted
And this poem is for her.

You spoke very well for your friend dear. My sympathy to your friend. Pray she understands it was not her fault. I hope they put the animal away for his crime. Yes women need to bond together and shout loud and clear NO MORE!!!!
