Violence
The door is open.
I know I can escape.
I am free to go,
but I never leave.
I know I can escape.
I am free to go,
but I never leave.

Good use of ink that not only can be applied to a domestic situation, but to an institute og education and a place of employment.

hits hard. this violence is to the clipped self, to the bird within. i liked your succinct verses & title, universally applicable essence as pointed out above

Thank you for your kind compliments. Violence does hit hard. Everybody has their own bird.

A profound expression of your inner self... I hope you are released from the constraints of your mind. Reminds me of a little haiku that I wrote but haven't posted:
"Break free from the chains
All they ever were, but mere
Constraints of the mind"
Anyway, thanks for sharing. You did a good job on this little write...!

A derivative of Stockholm Syndrome.
In our minds, the outside maybe scarier than the inside.
