The Writer's Dilemma*
As a reader you may be forced to
Counteract meaning which is still
The least of us
It’s the writing so concretely
(And when you decide to do it)
As opposed to abstractly that
Usually
Alienates or unifies people for
Frightening can now
Locate your geographic
Whereabouts,
Education level, your age, your sexual politic
(A formidable podium in a digital outpost)
At the same time making you an
“Assessible write”
(A sticker for organization, flow and congruence;
Not having too many themes all jumbled up
And excessive verbosity
Unbelievers and then there are
Just those colloquialisms who appeal to the
Reader)
For them to grasp: pulling them into
Your world with some kind of conviction
Something convincingly-some
Palpable
God:
Raspberry fields, pretzel coated rain, buckets of sorrow, sunken magnolias
This is what they remember;
A poster child championing for broad based understanding
Without being made to exhume or extract
What you actually meant or
What you’re trying to convey.
