INTERPERSONAL silence, 1
I told You
I liked You.
I laid my naked beating heart
upon the coroner's examining
table.
You gently cupped it
and pretending to care
You squeezed red liquid,
the life force into a
specimen jar.
Then shunning me,
You cast aside my vulnerability
and risk
and You turned away
leaving me behind.
Without a piece of me,
my heart,
I cried out and in my
lament,
stabbed the remaining portion
of my heart.
Alas,
nothing dripped from my lifelessness.
Our interpersonal friendship
crumbled beneath the
weight of Your silence.
