last autumn there was a Wood Nymph... who...
lived in the forest behind my vardo.

week-ends she was inclined to slink about...
sniffing the air...
and begging visitors for treats...

a cluster of teen boys watching the wood-nymph flit about...
I put a cracker in one boy's hand and told him to approach v-e-r-y slowly...
stop and then let her come to him...
and he did...and she did...
it was awesome to watch
...he believed... Ely
