nothing i do can make you love me
I've locked you inside,
I've chained you to the foot of my bed
To stop you from leaving.
I tore apart my shirt,
And turned it into a tourniquet.
To stop the bleeding.
But there's nothing I can do to make you love me.
It seems the more I try,
A thousand attempts,
The more I push.
Drifts you further away from me.
Sometimes I think I'm trying a bit too hard,
At times it all feels like I'm not doing enough.
Believe me if I could,
I'd stop these thoughts of you.
I'd burn down every bit of feeling I cultivate towards you.
Only if loving you was my choice.
I'd starve and deprive my lungs off air,
And stop my heart from pumping blood.
Because every breath I breathe it's a fume,
Fumes of the fiery love that burns inside my heart.
Your name is in every love song that plays in the radio.
Your face in every frame of everything that plays on TV.
The good morning messages,
The I miss you texts,
Daily love poems,
And thousand phone calls.
Nothing that I do can make you love me.
