THE TRAP

I love this. I feel like the “trap” could be anything.

Do you want to know,
or is that just another
alluring quagmire?

Is it temptuous?
Does the quicksand pull you in?
Tell me of this trap.

It is a complex
series of encumberances
attached to a girl

Does she know of it;
this burden for which you speak?
This complexity?

She intuits it
I am sure. I give her hints.
Maybe. I don't know.

Be bold and tell her.
Life is but this one to live;
time stops for no man.

Sounds easy enough
to have this beautiful cake
and eat it too. Still...

You could eat it, but
cake is so overrated;
sugar rots the mind.

Wanting to get caught but not wanting to give in.  It feels like it's the fun of cat and mouse, the chase.  Those teasing bits that reel you in but only close enough to leave you wanting more.

Yes. I am the cat, sometimes the mouse, addicted always to the chase.

It's good to play on both sides of cat and mouse.  Have fun.  :)

How I love the chase
Makes contentment difficult
Lovely trap indeed

On the other hand...
"love the process, not results"
could make one happy.

... but the process is a series of mini-results. The question is, which way is it trending?

Toward hanging out at some point (we live very far away from each other). That is all I need, for now.
