No More Love Between Us
Words and touches that feel bitter
On the tongue. Selfish in the ways
I wanted the tears to disappear and
Endless waves of pleasure to appear.
We swayed, titled and always flitter
On the edge, but without the blaze
Or match ever igniting. Your hand
In mine feels stone cold. Your clear
Eyes become overcast, unfocused
And hazy. Bad sex that has a bad
Name attached to it. I never hated
Anyone or anything as much as I did
In that moment and no single poet
In their right mind would be glad
To describe it in words like grated
Nails on the chalkboard. So I get rid
Of it all like a sin I am trying to forget.
I love you becomes I hate you and we
Are not whispering or speaking to
Each other anymore. No amount of
Persuasion could stop those wet
Tears from pouring. What I see
Becomes unrecognizable and you
Are a stranger. There is no more love.
