Ingrained

After you watch a movie like Okja, the feelings that is going through your body is to take care of animals. Especially the ones who are being eaten by humans. Caring means not eating them and that realization only lasts until it fades in a couple of days with craving of meat once more. What does that say about us? Most of us? As some are not meat lovers. Are we programmed to not adjust that it's too late to let the better way into our stomach? Or are we just psychopaths? I think both can be true in which we adapted for so long that it looks only natural for there to be slaughter houses with the animals killed by a needle gun and suspended high to be butchered with every part of them being sold for a magnum profit going to the 1%.

At the end, when it looked like a scene from a Holocaust movie with genetically engineered pigs as humans, it touches the part of you which wakes up when you see some truths that should be changed, some distortions that should be cleared and some sickness that needs to be cured.

I might not be a vegetarian, or a vegan, or a pescetarian for that matter, but at least I will try not to eat bacon. That's my ugly, psychopathic truth which I can eerily say I can live by.
