Wish🌟
I’ll wish upon a star when I grow up.
A nurse’ry cloud will have a child for me
And bring her down to earth in a teacup,
Unless it brings a boy instead of tea.
I’d wished upon a star when I was 3,
To let me have a yellow puppy when
I slept among the presents ‘neath our tree,
To be the one to hug it first thing then.
I wished upon a star because I lied
When I forgot to feed my little friend,
And Dad found my pet goldfish on its side.
I was ashamed, I’ll never fib again.
I’ll wish upon a star when I grow wise.
I want to see you, God, before I die.
You’ll know me as you look into my eyes,
Then from my bed and children will I fly.
