Image for the poem pink blush

pink blush

the delicate day opened her eyes
the dawn was rising in shades of pink
so beautiful in her rose-colored hue

I blink back tears
for the glorious morn
that saw me lovesick

a thousand little deaths for a man
tender in his touch I moan
so gentle with his finesse
a sigh escapes my lips

my brazen approach doesn't phase him
he says "hush woman
I know what you need"

in tender blush, I reach for his form
he answers "hold on lady
I'm the man i'll be doing the driving"

I look at him shyly
his masculinity is charming
slowly disarming all of my internal security

click goes the steel locks over my heart
soon he's inside my inner chambers
touching me like no other has

he speaks to the darkness
and says "get back"
my demons know his name
tremble at his authority
he isn't one to be trifled with

at last, he views the girl I am
beautiful as the dawn
pink blush and all
