On the Beach
On the Beach
Annihilation
Is not
So bad
If done
Correctly.
At quarter
To oblivion,
The kiss begins.
Persuasion
Mocks us
With its
Inevitability.
We persist
And resist,
And as
The darkness
Recedes,
The crests
Heave sighs,
Lips
And fingers,
And the waves
Roll in,
Covering
The shore,
The towns,
The cities,
The sprawling
Disconnected
Spaces
All drowned
In a smothering
undulation,
Sand
And salt water,
Passion
And eclipse,
Wave
After wave,
Whispers
And an overwhelming
Sense
Of being
Taken
Out to sea.
Annihilation
Is not
So bad
If done

The kiss begins.
