Street Of Hero's

Real heroes are living on the street
Sleeping on the dirty concrete
Begging for money just to eat
Feeling like getting both is a  treat.

Horrible Images they can't delete
Some Fading some  on repeat
Our Soldiers need help to defeat
Demons battled in the heat
Even at first they don't speak
nightmares will always sneak
Hero’s  shouldn’t be forced to weak
Over help, they may not be able to seek

The government has our heroes  in the backseat
No welcome home or gifts, are there to greet?
Their loved ones are at the airport meet
The government treats them obsolete

How can anyone especially their own government mistreat
The men & women who make our country,  THEIR country complete?

Hero's past & present are the reason for their seat.

If anything Our Soldiers past & present should be in an extravagant suite or a huge retreat

Never  begging for quarters on the streets
