I notice your presence instantly
a warm kind of breeze precedes
carrying aloft a scent of you
fresh clothing, soap and sandalwood
I watch you as you animate
sparkling blue eyes, white teeth, red lips
hands gesticulating
emphasizing your wordplay
I like how you move around
the jaunt of your hips
the way your legs fold as you sit
the elegance of your hands with polished nails
I adore it when you look at me
wordless communication
a gesture, a smile shared
connection on a spiritual level
I love the way you clasp me
tight between your thighs
your arms around my shoulders
embracing this life of ours
I enjoy the time we spend together
every stolen moment a gem so rare
each one found in a chasm of eternity
so dark and desolate I despair
I hate the fact you leave me
to go to your other life
back to your friends and family
your work, troubles and strife
I thank the stars and universe
that brought you into my life
if only for this moment in time
