The Light Crusaders
They march on for hundreds of miles
With a single goal in mind
Thousands of soldiers move in single file
To protect their countries and families that they’ve left behind.
Stomping feet and hooves lead them across
The river as they chat: “For God! For God!”
Silver armor painted with a white cross
The army acknowledges frightened villagers with a sharp nod.
With swords in their hands and love in their hearts
They battle to the death for their faith
Blood soaks the grass, and weary souls depart
Hoping to one day be revered as saints.
The holy cross is displayed proudly
The Light Crusaders have drawn the line
Even though the enemy calls their faith blasphemy
The warriors of God are protected by the divine.
Clashing swords and blood-curling screams
Are drowned out by cries of: “In the name of God!”
Dying for their faith is a Light Crusader’s dream
And the blood-soaked graveyard warms with the dawn.
