Lost presence of mind
Trying to finish up a job
Had to cut out big sections
Of the floor to get under the house
To repair the floor trusses
And replace the screw Jacks that also
Support this floor
Upon starting today I was bringing in
Plywood to cut and put down
Not paying attention to the holes as my mind was elsewhere
I set the piece of plywood upon two wooden horses so it could be cut
Just as I was turning around...and...
My mind still deciding to be elsewhere
My left foot decided to fall through the hole.. that was directly behind me ... and my thoughtful mind not helping me at that moment... almost like a clip out of a cartoon ... down I went.. now I'm no acrobat .. nor have I been practicing my splits... but split I did... my right foot decided to try and stay upright .. and yes... my mind still elsewhere. .. SNAP...went my right ankle. . Almost like a chicken bone being cracked.. actually it might have been a little louder .. fun times.. when I'm not paying attention.

This makes me think of my dad. I remember him coming home from a job with broken wrist and elbow. Broken leg a month later. Funny and too true!

Working on a church .. once.. I got to witness the unfortunate falls of two iron workers and one hvac worker fall to their...unfortunate ends.. in the middle of winter we carried on...
