Revere

My eyes flickered with the waning candlelight
sensing her presence ever near
fragrant wafts of her lilac lingered
surrounding the stillness of the air

she glanced excitingly at my Longfellow
as my parched lips persued her vibe

"Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels"
spilled out the recesses of my soul
where be or not her love to be shall lie

the darkness it bore no worry
and light not really gone awry
in this comfort I caressed this angel
unclothing secrets of a beautiful mind

I whispered my intentions
holding tight to the fading fear
it's then and there I kissed her
the one I so passionately revere
