Nice observations of how others see us and we see ourselves. Sometimes definitely looks like totally different people.

It's an observation that I had in not just one relationship.
While in the relationship, when something is not "right", the other attributes it to a personal shortcoming, ensuring you that this has nothing to do with you. It's not a manifestation of an "attitude", but a personality deficiency - even momentary one.
Yet, you're the only one experiencing it - and sometimes this momentary deficiency becomes serial.
In the months after the breakup, what you observe is a sudden "correction" of behaviour, that unfortunately you didn't had the chance to experience while in the relationship.
So, it's a personal shortcoming, having nothing to do with you, yet paradoxically it was only manifested at you.
