Hollow
At first there was pain
Most definitely pain
Then came desperation
Degrading desperation
Now is the void
All hollow emptiness
Soon will come acceptance
Horrible acceptance
Then the end
Done
Most definitely pain
Then came desperation
Degrading desperation
Now is the void
All hollow emptiness
Soon will come acceptance
Horrible acceptance
Then the end
Done

sounds almost like a near death experience...emotionally charged verse...succinct...I love succinct...well done...

It's a process of healing, Medinda. That horrible walk through an empty cylinder of death row.
But at least you're walking through.
But at least you're walking through.

Re: Re. Hollow
I think everyone is having some personal interpretations of this which is great but it's not the same meaning to me.
Re: Re. Hollow
We don't see the world as it is but as we are. We each have our own filter. That's the beauty of art, it resonates inside each reader, viewer, or listener.
Personally I took this as a process of initial change to acceptance. It could be anything from an emotion, a realization regarding a relationship, an addiction, a loss. . . so much could be associated with this verse.
That's the very thing that makes it poetry, to me.

This reads like soft steps down a staircase to oblivion, with no need to elaborate. The falling is felt deeply
