The use only of diction to convey the narrative was an inspired move, and as usual the pain and anger behind these lines almost suffocates. The "betrays me" chorus in the middle was a masterstroke, as it adds definition to the poem as a whole. Terms like "piano wire", "gopher traps" and "gassed", meanwhile, collude to create one hell of a central image.

I wrote this on a bus.. on my way to GED classes to get my high school equivalency degree.. it was before my meltdown but leading up to it.. the precursor so to speak.. you can almost smell the anger and pain taking over and bringing me closer to that night that changed my life forever.. I was well on my way.. (I remember trying to hide what I was writing from other people on the bus.. I don't usually like writing in public)..

i don't usually say things like this poem does, but i feel all of them
when i read it (and some of your others, of course). hopefully i won't
end up killing someone (besides myself that is.

I think a lot of us if not all of us are tortured in some way.. all life has it's suffering.. I'm sure I won't kill anyone but myself.. some of my stuff I'd rather not get published until after I'm gone anyway.. because I don't want to answer for myself know what I mean.. glad you're diggin my stuff
