Jason: The Boy Born From Earth
I thoroughly believe you were born from Earth.
How else does one explain the way grass bows before your feet,
Or the way your fingers command flowers to bloom.
How with a smile the tide comes rushing in,
And with a laugh, a tsunami kisses your ankles.
I have heard orchestras of birds dedicate songs to you.
And ever since the day you opened your eyes,
The sky has fought to be more blue.
Before you go to bed,
Your mother wraps you in a sunset and sends a choir of frogs and crickets to sing you a lullaby.
As soon as you fall asleep
The stars wake up.
I tell them about you.
