The Lion's Den

When sitting in the lion's den being coveted by the beast
You have to find ways, by any means, to maintain your peace
Whether that's by praying to the east or pulling out heat
You must stop the streets from enjoying a hearty feast

I use loose leaf sheets so that my psyche doesn't take a nose dive
Temporarily escaping the things trying to headline me on Fox Five
I realize that it's not what happens but how I react to it
That's an affirmation of knowledge that we all should spit

I know it gets hard not to get vexed when vultures are coming for your neck
When every corner you turn you discern your name being used without respeck
Try to check all of those emotions and focus on your end game
Allowing drama connoisseurs to have their fifteen minutes of fame
