Words

I have given and I have received
Sometimes my words are misperceived
Inquisitive but not the inquisition
I try to clarify my position
We all at times can fail in expression
and suddenly arouse the other's aggression
Guilty of stepping on people's toes
in the process I made some friends and foes
I am aware now more than ever
using words with great care keeps fair the weather
yet there needs to be the freedom to express
our thoughts and feelings without distress
I guess we all just try to navigate
and I hope we can communicate
without trying to
infuriate
obliterate
eradicate
