Remember me - a song of love from afar

If these blustering winds could carry my voice home
I’d sing to the skies that you’re not alone.
Star after star, I’d pluck from dark heavens above
To serenade gentle lullabies of sequestered love.
With a tender embrace and an evanescent gasp
I’d release them to a limitless home and free of my grasp.
On an anguished hope, I dream that they soar,
And land, a falling star, upon your front door.
From miles afar, they would come to proclaim
The pining of a collapsing wanderer who still remembers your name:

I’d return to you though mountains and valleys stand before my feet,
Still without a burdensome path ahead, my love for you would not be so sweet.

Remember me.
