Internal Medicine
It was many
tumultuous years
endured and inflicted,
before I finally
exhaled the breath
I unknowingly
was holding hostage.
In the aftermath,
every toxic assumption
every poisonous lie,
every hazardous road traveled,
every raw wound,
every person I scorned,
every rejection,
every fear,
every pain,
every tear shed,
every insecurity,
every secret...
freed,
healed,
forgiven.
Granting me permission
to start life anew.
