Shelter of Duplicity
Darkness surrounds and
Envelops her as the walls,
Her shelter of duplicity,
Withstand the advances
Of wanting to know her more deeply,
Disrupting the stillness she has built.
Most surrender, but some
Are not content.
Seeking a way in,
Curious what they might find,
Despite the resistance.
She recalls those six words as
The memories plague her.
Having no end she cries, "Not again!"
From the top of her wall
The arrows rain down on the few left.
Finally, It's hopeless as
She exists to cease.
