Givers and Takers
I
Am not a saint
Nor
Do I claim to be
For
The soles of my shoes
Know
Where I’ve been
But
Should you need shoes
I’d lace mine
Upon your feet
And
Should you need shelter
I’d make room in my keep
For
I know what it’s like
To feel cold
And
Exposed
But
Not everyone
Loves the same
I find this out
Continuously
With the coming
Of the rain
Am not a saint
Nor
Do I claim to be
For
The soles of my shoes
Know
Where I’ve been
But
Should you need shoes
I’d lace mine
Upon your feet
And
Should you need shelter
I’d make room in my keep
For
I know what it’s like
To feel cold
And
Exposed
But
Not everyone
Loves the same
I find this out
Continuously
With the coming
Of the rain
