Just A Dream

 
When I see you,
my heart skips a beat-
or maybe two,
then drowns to my feet.
 
When I close my eyes,
I see only you in my dreams
Only your eyes like stars in the sky,
sparkling like topaz in a stream.
 
You come so close
you hug me tight.
You caress my skin-
till we say good night.
 
I wake up-
I know it was only a dream,
One so happy-yet so sad,
Because it is just a pathetic fantasy
that you will be mine, and hold my hand.
