The Monkey Business Of Ancestral Memory

She Was Such A Pry Mate

I Had To Use A Crowbar To

Separate Her From Her Monkey Business

And Doggone Nosiness ,

And She Had The Hardest Time Burying

The Bones Of Old , Dead Relationships ,

Preferring To Gnaw At The Remains ;

She Picked My Brain Like A Locksmith Turned Thief

Turning Tumblers Like An Acrobatic Detective ,

With Olympic Precision , And Falling Backward

Off The High Dive Into The Deep End Of Any Memory

To Find Keys To Hidden Passages ;

I Left Her In The Haunted House With The Ghosts Of Her Thoughts

And Blessed Her In Her Endless Search For Answers Forgotten
