Autumn Morn
the sky is blue today
this crisp autumn morn
branches stiff and barely clad
undressed by winds blown
scattered clothes rustle and snap,
under aimless paws, hurried heels and soles,
shy rays of the sun barely peek
through layers of fluffy covers' holes
flowers and grass glimmer with crystals
last night's perspiration dews forth
a few furry friends scuttle around
last minute preps for supplies to hoard
kids giggle and smile while other's yawn
can't wait for their bus, can't wait to board
their parents watch with half closed eyes
another long day, already tired, bored
same old routine, mundane complexities
seasons change, dreams fade, kids grow
the microwave beeps, breakfast calls
a quick bite, get my keys and mug
i'm already late for work
