A letter to home
You told me I was your home
But I always found myself where you were,
Smiling ever so erringly at nothing
Whenever you messaged me
Saving the words as if they were letters
Sent from across a different universe.
You told me you love me
And I always looked to you for affirmation
Though I know I shouldn't have.
It's just that you were all the love
I could ever have wished for and more.
And you were always so much more.
You told me you were thankful
For the days you've spent with me
Greeting our first December together.
And here I am thinking to myself
I could never have asked for more,
Or anything better, or anything at all.
These memories are enough to prove, dear,
You are my home.
But I always found myself where you were,
Smiling ever so erringly at nothing
Whenever you messaged me
Saving the words as if they were letters
Sent from across a different universe.
You told me you love me
And I always looked to you for affirmation
Though I know I shouldn't have.
It's just that you were all the love
I could ever have wished for and more.
And you were always so much more.
You told me you were thankful
For the days you've spent with me
Greeting our first December together.
And here I am thinking to myself
I could never have asked for more,
Or anything better, or anything at all.
These memories are enough to prove, dear,
You are my home.
