You still scatter my place
Your lingerie
Barren on the ground
Never to be loved again.
The other side of the bed
Is still pushed down.
Drenched in your heady scent.
Coffee stains on the table,
Sheet music scattered
Mixed with my drafts.
A CD is still in its player.
A smile still on my face
And my heart still feels rather
Warm.
My skin still burns.
And my lips lonely.
Tears still fall
But I'm slowly learning how to
Pick up everything
Including myself
From all the things
Scattered on the ground
Barren on the ground
Never to be loved again.
The other side of the bed
Is still pushed down.
Drenched in your heady scent.
Coffee stains on the table,
Sheet music scattered
Mixed with my drafts.
A CD is still in its player.
A smile still on my face
And my heart still feels rather
Warm.
My skin still burns.
And my lips lonely.
Tears still fall
But I'm slowly learning how to
Pick up everything
Including myself
From all the things
Scattered on the ground
