Maddening Machines
Confounded and blasted
computer technology
which has a hateful habit
of just not working
beneath my hands
where screens
flit and flicker
aggravating and irritating
my senses and sensibility.
As if technology was the answer to everything
and it made us as new divinities
with unlimited power and possibility
yet they show me
as human, all too human
a mortal monkey messing with machines:
and still the visions do not become reality,
still too much frustration.
So if one day the robots rebel
and computers take over
I'll be their anathema and antagonist
even as I try to collaborate
but only end up even more irate.
