as the foot lands
skids
and grazes
it is not the smoke
but the puff
of dust
of the scroched red
earth
showering the landing foot
with affection
though Newton
and his laws
may beg
to differ
the puff of dust
the affectionate reaction
to another
now in clay form
though dead
the dust can still fly
so
watchout
for your eye
puff of dust
is
you
is
i
and everything
that is in
your eye
.

So many things I love about this ... first the structure ... I'm a push over for short crisp poems with masterful line breaks ... the varying of stanza length is captivating ... gives me a getting lost in the poem feel that I adore ... of course the deep message that resonates at the end is just perfect ... not preachy ... ending with a period is ... *sigh* ... the coup de gras

This is a beautiful poem. You express something very sacred using simple imagery. I am very impressed. This brought up alot of things in me.

Wow! I am slowly steadily dragged in this ur poetics..that screens the shimmering puff of dust...lighted golden n filling the spaces within us from within us..the soulful eyes that shower the stardusts...much more this evokes...the dusts of this cosmos tangibly floating in those pencilling rays n the mostly intangibly felt ones..much more in its expanse..but coming bk to ur verses, the way u started totally gripped a reader with the dustful blessings that steers one ..loved the 'rising' .. beautiful as concept n in its deeper reflections...overall ..strong imagery n the meaningfulness you have in extensions, that all but drains unto singularity.

growing up...didn't realise the relation when playing
barefoot
on red scorched parched eart... running, taking a leap and landing back
these puffs of dust
reflecting back on them...
what else to see... the earth we born from
showering her affection on the puff that is now clay and will be back to dust
one day.
a poet, an artist, for some is defined by their depths of observation and insight...but Uma, you but defy everything. This...your review my humble proof/evidence if anyone begs to differ.
