Storage

The spare room was full of my boxes
that I have toted around throughout my life.
So when I started the treatment
I decided now I would just downsize.

Three months now and its looking better.
The Goodwill sees me every week
My stacks of boxes are nearly half.
Yet still the job is incomplete

Everything goes into one of three places:
Me, kids, or Goodwill.
I have pictures ranging from my own childhood,
through marriage and children and still...

I can remember where when and what
by these small trinkets that I treasure.
But I will pass them on to live
for someone else to remember

Collections of comics , ceramics , and more,
the years of paid storage I couldnt afford;
unloading the weight is a diet of joy-
Substance in a meaningful void.
