The Mix

Take a bowl of nouns, adjectives and creativity
Mix in a pinch of versatility with some humility
Bake it in the oven at four hundred & fifty degrees
Observe its transparency as it morphs into poetry

Rising like a loaf of dough putting on a nice show
Vulnerably exposing things many didn't even know
What doesn't kill us makes us stronger as we grow
Driving in fast lanes but it's more sane to go slow

Using our noses to smell the aroma of red roses
As we journey through life bearing heavy crosses
Trying to be positive role models for all of the kids
Standing up to adversity as we face all of our fears

Over the years shedding tears for deceased peers
Wondering when Jesus will grab the wheel & steer
Chanting Allah Akbar wearing a James Harden beard
Hopping around chakra bars drowning your sorrows in beer
