King of Nothingness
You sat on your throne
Alone in an empty castle
Ruling over nothingness
I hid in my tower
Singing my melancholic tune
Waiting to be rescued
The days past
The years
I knew you weren’t coming
So I braved the danger
And scaled down my tower
My feet landing solidly on the fresh dirt
I knocked on your castle door
The emptiness made the sound echo
It echoed until it was engulfed
I waited but you never came
You were tied to your throne
With ropes of pain
I circled the castle to find a way in
I found a small window
In which I could slip in
I was finally inside the walls
It was darker and more sinister
Than it looked from the outside
I’d had already came this far
I wasn’t going to turn back now
So one foot in front of the other I tread
I opened doors but all the rooms were empty
I carefully walked towards the throne room
My heartbeat accelerating
Sprawled around were skeletons
Of your suitors and servant
A gust of wind shot by
And the bones rattled a warning
I approached you as you sat on your throne
You were the king of nothingness
Yet you looked down upon me
You decided to entertain the idea of me for awhile
But your patience grew weary
My light and warmth scathed you
So you demanded your cold black throne room
I was determined to be with you
I had dreamed of you in my tower for years
I thought you were my prince
But you were the king of nothingness, who dealt only in fear
I tried to cater to your every whim
I walked on burning coals
My body dripping with sin
But your rage showed its head
And I understood why everyone else was dead
My mind filled with dread
As I realized I had walked to my death bed
You locked me in the castle dungeon
With no light or life
I aimless wander around my cell
Wondering if it’s day or night
Sometimes I think I can hear your footsteps
But it could be the whistling winds
That creep through the hallways
Of your desolate castle filled with nothingness
Alone in an empty castle
Ruling over nothingness
I hid in my tower
Singing my melancholic tune
Waiting to be rescued
The days past
The years
I knew you weren’t coming
So I braved the danger
And scaled down my tower
My feet landing solidly on the fresh dirt
