Golden Flower

Sweet golden flower, how fair you are
Ever blessed and held in high honor by the Valar
Your brilliant golden hair outshines the sun
And on your brow lies great wisdom.
-
Strong hands that are lethal with a blade
An impressive figure that sets you tall and straight
Yet those same hands are soft and gentle to the touch
Your kind and forgiving nature will bear no grudge.
-
You’ve performed your duty well as a Lord of Gondolin
Even paying with your life the consequence of Maeglin’s sin
Several ages later, you now call home the valley of Rivendell
And resume your duty to protect the descendants of Idril.
-
Your voice is like music caressing keen ears
Your fëa has remained bright and strong throughout all the years
Your face is fair and young and fearless and full of joy
You helped save Middle-Earth from Sauron’s plot to destroy.
-
Sweet golden flower, how fair you are
Ever blessed and held in high honor by the Valar
You’re among the mighty of the Firstborn
Riding upon Asfaloth, you lead your army with the blow through your horn.
-
Laurenfindil; Glorfindel, you are of mighty worth
Blessed by Manwë himself with significant power
Your mysterious eyes are bright and clean
Looking into the future, such as the demise of the Witch King.
-
Lord of the House of the Golden Flower
Your time in Middle-Earth has reached its final hour
A grey ship awaits you at the shores
To sail you back to your home in Valinor.
