Another Long Night

It looks like its gonna be another long night.
The U-Haul is finally headed this way-
Taking its time down Old Firestem Lane.
I'm trying to stay focused,
Despite the spilt sack,
And the overwhelming ring tone remix,
And how I keep catching such odd pieces
Of five different conversations--
It seems this is where
I finally begin to lose it--
When many random thoughts
Take on about a dozen background noises...
But tonight, everything seems
To fall perfectly into place.
All I need now is a cigarette
And a breath of fresh air...
I got the world at my fingertips,
A buzz in my bowl,
And a brand new Bic lighter
That's never been flicked-
And every once in a while,
It's okay to admit,
That life doesn't get
Much more better than this.
