Wild Violets

Yesterday the sun came out,
 winter gone another year
Beneath the yew's
shade and sanctury violets
calm the morning sun,
company for the dandelion as
daffodils fade and sparrows tweet.

The yew, dark and green guards
violets cluster and surprise
they were not here last year
uninvited now settle beneath
the evergreen ancient shade
while cowlips in the grass
spread comfort, reassure
that spring has come,seeds
carried on cold winter storms,
perhaps the crow, in black feathers.
Amerthyst crystals,once  charmed
ancients,blue, dark as  summer night
comfort for the faith-less
.Next year your seed will bloom,
fecund beauty are you here to stay?
 Invade the lawn and welcome
for now lie still and wait.
 Blue flowers  shine summers eve
while reds turn black on rustic fence.
Simple beauty shames the lily in its purity.
Stay please stay, blooms to bright my eyes
leaves  furnishing my plate as
moths graze and aphid sucks.
Blue on blue on a summer eve,
