Said Death

   
said death to agony  
you are the keeper of the flame  
revolving eternal  
  
pushing people to the edge  
  
into my waiting embrace  
where they taketh their leave  
into finality    
  
when I in due time    
doth claim  
those weeping in despair  
  
running from life's epiphanies  
  
lest they see    
the truth    
hidden inside    
the great eye of pain  
  
with curses and cries  
that hang heavy on the wind  
  
for the gift  
of viewing your magic  
conjured  
  
I doth tarry  
  
never approaching too speedily  
the mortals suffering    
who for my pleasure  
  
does linger
