The Hard Way
I pushed the button
I opened the door
I picked you up off the floor
I’ve left stab wounds in backs
Been on kamikaze attacks
Could fill graveyards with the bodies I’ve stacked
I’ve tried to steal home
I’ve swung at the curve
I’ve struck out twice and came back for a third
I’ve sought their attention and burned and crashed
I’ve laid in the garbage and slept in trash
I’ve been wrong and I’d never admit it
I’ve been loyal and never fully committed
I’ve been a special case and I’ll do anything to please me
Being complicated is jus too easy
