Don't Wonder About Hell

Like it is Now!

When you die and go to hell
You will wake up to the alarm
Walk out into the rain
Hump and bump
Through traffic moving slower than
A man can walk
Just so you can
Keep a roof over your
Head for another month,
Just so you can afford
To drink another
Night away forever.

Hey come to think of it
I guess it will be just
Like it is now.

Where Do You Live?

Daddy’s pet boa constrictor
Crawls into the babies crib
And crushes it.
The parents don’t wonder
About hell any more
Now they live there.

A woman in Afghanistan is gang raped.
Then arrested for adultery.
She doesn’t wonder about hell
As she awaits trial
In her rat infested bug ridden cell
She already lives there.

In Uganda sucking a dick
Is a capital offense.
If that is all
You ever think about
And you live in Uganda
Then that my friend
That is what hell is like;
Just like that.

Wondering

Every morning
Men and women
Wake up in empty beds
And wonder where their lover has gone.
           "Who will love me now?"

Every morning
Men and Women
Wake up and count
How many more weeks
of unemployment checks are left.
"Where will I go when they stop?"

Every morning
Men and women
Wake up and wonder
If the lump in their arm pit
Is getting bigger.
"What can I do if it is?"

Every morning
I wake up
And it is raining,
Always raining,
The tears of God
Falling, falling
Into this well of sorrow,
This pit.

Don’t wonder about hell
My friends
We already live there.
