A Language Plundered
A Propensity Toward Propriety
Doth Not Deny One The Ability
To Comment Upon Profane Prose
Though Some Turn Up Their Nose
At Any Vulgarity Used By Humanity
To Describe An Imagined Depravity
Due To Some Morality Self Imposed
It Is In Truth A Minority Not Majority
Who Claim Other's Are An Inferiority
For Perverting The Power Of Word
Yet I Must Admit I Have Truly Heard
Some Of The Same Ones Take In Vain
A Name And Feel No Need For Shame
When Or If They Fall Or Stub Their Toe
Or Those In Traffic Are Far Too Slow
And Thus It Is I Am Left To Wonder
What Are The Rules Of Language Plundered ?

I would agree , Buddhakitty ;
Perhaps however , we would need to consider it
through the lens of the bagel theory of the universe ;
A 360 degree toroid , with a hole in the middle ,
spinning horizontally , and vertically at the same
time , like a smoke ring...as soon as spin ceased
to be coherent , the smoke ring falls apart...
Humanity is like that , when we consider spin , as
equaling perspective...
We "fall apart" when perspective is no longer coherent...;)
Thus , perhaps , this is why we are told to sit on it and spin !

dearest Wolf
so profound are your thoughts
I must confess I once maligned words
a hack with the pension for shock poetry
In time I learned to finesse words..
it's been a long journey
your poem brought that to memory..
wonderful..
love Raven

Thank You , SmackDown Raven !
What a wonderful word is "finesse" , is it not ?
It truly conveys , just by the sound and feel on
one's tongue , an eloquence , and the hiss of a
snake seductive , and informing one's consciousness
in such a way words may enter , slithering , rather
than a harsh strike ;
Language has so many levels , and ways of expression...
Age and experience do much to teach us this !
Thank you for your appreciation of such in your life !
I do remember someone teaching me this particular
thing long ago , when I called someone an asshole ;
They took me aside and said :
"Do Not Call Them An Asshole , You Will Alienate Some
You Might Choose To Be Your Friends ;
Rather , Just Ask Them If They Feel Caught In A Moment
Of Assholiness"
*That* taught me much...;)

dearest Wolf
calling us as poets to higher standard
is truly beautiful..
there is a place and time for all
but words are sacred and this should be remembered..
wonderful..

Ah , yes Crimson , we must carry the standard , as a banner , forward !
And interesting choice of word , "sacred" :
As that word can convey a meaning of being "set apart" from the norm ,
or the mundane world ; I am a firm believer , though the power of word
does describe the mundane , everyday reality , it is when it is used not to
separateness , yet to create a "separate reality" , wherein one may feel , and
create worlds outside of the norm , and carry others with them on the journey...
What I have found , interestingly enough , many are "scared" of the "sacred" ,
as they feel more comfortable in the mundane , and common perspective...
I do feel it is the duty of the poet , writer , artist , to disturb , lure , seduce those
into an alternate realm , and offer them a new window into reality...and beyond !
Thank you for your appreciation !

Re: Re. A Language Plundered
Crimson ;
I always loved Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land...
There is an expression he used , for one who always
saw themselves as one at the beginning of learning :
"I am only an egg"
I do try , though not always successful at keeping that
in my consciousness as my greatest lesson...
There are so many who have gone before us , and laid
the stones we are walking on...
And I "shake my spears" at the universe , asking it to
remind me , in the moments I need that...;)

Remarkable uniqueness to this one wolf . Such an interesting way to look at everyone's complicit nature , even if it's denied . I can think of a handful of people in my own personal life that should open their eyes a little wider to who and what they look down upon . Bravo friend.
