Help Signs

Animals dying
People trying
We are all crying
Birds falling
And yet we still don't see.

We hear Mother Nature's calls and pleas for help
We see her warning signs, her writing that she needs help,
And yet we close our eyes and cover our ears
And ignore her.

We keep to ourselves, we don't help anyone but ourselves.
And maybe we help the ones who we love, or maybe there are people who do help others,
But only of the same species.
We don't help Mother Nature.

We twiddle our thumbs as we watch animals and plants die off,
We ignore the pain of the creatures and all the destruction.
We are trying to pretend it isn't happening, but it is.
We need to figure this out.

Humans need to figure out that this world will perish because of us,
Animals who have been here longer than us will die,
Plants will be wiped off the face of the earth,
All because of us.

When will we start to see that this will be our end,
And that without these things, humanity will not survive.
If we don't stop this,
We won't be here at all.
