Poetry Quilt
I die little deaths
one lost word at a time
they linger on my periphery
just out of reach
in the shadows where my vision can't be fulfilled
to land in the mind of other poets
who shape it, claim it and make it their own
lovely creatures to behold
in their new skin
birthed into the world to become ideas
poetry lives and breathes
is alive with hope
it carries the souls of its creators
whispering to our intellect
see me, hear me
mingle with my poetic blood
and create something profound
to touch the world
a patchwork quilt of humanity
within its tapestry
I come alive one word at a time
