Loves Combat

How do you let go of someone who has seen your soul?
Knowing at some point this person made you feel whole

The butterflies, the deep sighs slowly turned into sleepless nights

What happened to all our good times?
When we felt young and free and couldn't think of another place to be

Broken promises shattered dreams
How do I mend the pieces and become what I felt was a team?

What was once my greatest love of all
Slowly and painfully turned into eroded asbestos chips chiseled off the wall

Criminally robbing my soul of all self worth
Raping me of everything installed from birth

Constantly making excuses over looking all negative signs
Fighting to wake from this nightmare of mine

Desperately wanting to relinquish all ties
Little did I know this combat would be for my life
