One more time
Air heavy with a nectar
tender as cowslips' pale blooms,
leaves and thrum eyed primrose.
Memories revive,closed in books
not read since time stood still.
Smells that cling undisturbed '
crystal as water from Spring showers
sweet-sweat of childhood dreams
sharp, astringent, bitter,musk
that was of her so long ago.
Nights, humid as I recall
aching limbs taut thighs
keep me wake as once.
Oh that I could sing duet,
take this nectar before it fades,
close windows,safe one more time
sing solo to evening shadows
smell again the fading nectar,
one more time, just once again.
