Devil’s Angel
I never wanted to feel this kind of hurt
not ever
sadly, it wasn’t up to me
so it is as it is...
the longer we live, the longer we die
with each day finding new ways to
numb the pain
those very same solutions are slowly
killing us
just to remind us how fragile we really are
so maybe it was for the best
that you left early
closing my eyes to see the light shine
picturing an angel so beautiful in heaven
it’s hard to understand why it had to be you
even though we all eventually go
I’ll always need to know
you’re doing ok...
believe me when I say
if I could grab god from the sky
I’d make him come to realize
how big of a mistake he made
until he broke down and apologized
then I’d have him tell you why
you had to die
I want to believe in a greater plan
although my faith grows cheep
I know there’s more to this life
but that’s all I know for sure
I know this because I can still feel it In your soul
something that keeps me going
that’s until the day I have to face
me losing the only person I cared for

"the longer we live, the longer we die" ... oh I like that. "if I could grab god from the sky" ... love how "god" is in lower case ... in fact all the words except those with "I" are ... did you do that intentionally. It is so powerful ... great write my poet.

I do that with most my poems. I just like the look of it for some reason. When it comes to faith, I think none of us know the truth. So god could be anything in my eyes. Love, respect, is what I have for all people regardless of beliefs.

Hmmm ... I just noticed that ... I've been almost the whole spectrum of Christianity ... never worked. I am an agnostic now ... I've only felt God in nature ... I was brought to tears with joy at the Grand Canyon ... You are so welcome ...

The beauty in this world really should be more appreciated. I also feel god in such beauty.

This is a raw and powerful poem, expressing grief in the most vulnerable and beautiful terms. It never really leaves us. Like the ache of a wound that never heals. I love that line about living and dying longer. So true

Pain builds as we live. It’s another reason I like to believe in a higher power. Life is hard when you have no faith.
